Container desiccants for container transports

Transporting goods by container ship, cargo aircraft and freight train is for many companies the most important way to move goods quickly and reliably. Especially for overseas transports these are the most important means of transport. The goods are transported in containers. However, container transports on container ships can lead to problems with moisture and wetness. Your high-quality goods can be damaged by wetness or become unusable due to mould. Do not worry about your valuable goods any longer, there is a simple and reliable solution: the right desiccant. We offer you container desiccants that reliably prevent transport damage caused by moisture.

Damage caused by wetness during container transports

Containers on container ships are exposed to strong temperature fluctuations during overseas transports. As a result, condensation water can form very quickly inside the containers and then settles on the goods inside the container. The wetness causes damage to your goods. Depending on the type of goods, rust can form or corrosion can develop. Mould quickly forms on food, textiles and furniture. Especially with electronic devices, malfunctions can occur. Boxes and crates are wet and deformed and are no longer suitable for further transport. All these moisture damages lead to complaints that cause you additional costs. In addition, such defects cause trouble with your customers.

Desiccants for many areas

The desiccants prevent moisture from penetrating packagings and damaging your products. When packing your products, the free space in the packaging is sealed together with the packed goods by a barrier film. This so-called climate-compatible packaging is impermeable to water vapour. The desiccant montmorillonite is water-vapour adsorbing and not water-soluble. This way the humidity of the air inside the packaging is reduced and the goods are protected against corrosion. This version is particularly suitable for goods from the fields of electronics, steel, industrial goods or chemicals.

Silica gel – probably the best-known desiccant

Everybody knows the small desiccant bags with silica gel: they are enclosed in many product packagings and are simply disposed of by the customer. But during transport the desiccant bags are ideal for protecting products against moisture. The moisture demand of the small crystals inside the desiccant bag is very high. It is simply absorbed from the air. This way you protect your packed products effectively on long transport routes. Moisture that penetrates the packaging is directly absorbed by the desiccant. The desiccant bags are also completely harmless for food transports.

Molecular sieve for drying or air filtering

Synthetically produced products for drying or air filtering are zeolites, also called molecular sieve. The molecular sieve is characterised by a consistent pore diameter and a crystal-like structure. A molecular sieve is ideal for fast drying, thanks to its optimum absorption volume. Molecular sieve can also be used reliably at low temperatures.

Container desiccants for container transport

Container desiccants ensure the safe and dry transport of your goods on overseas voyages. Protect your valuable goods reliably on the transport routes with a container desiccant. This way you avoid not only loss of goods due to wetness damage, but also dissatisfied customers. Container desiccants can be tailored specifically to your needs and the requirements of your products and packagings.
